(BNP) – On the morning of September 8, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, worked with the Chinese business delegation led by Ms. Shilei, Chairman of Sumec Machinery & Electric Co., Ltd. to explore investment cooperation opportunities in Bac Ninh province. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of departments, agencies and units in the province.
At the meeting, Ms. Shilei, Chairman of Sumec Machinery & Electric Co., Ltd. expressed her impression and appreciation of the potential of Bac Ninh province, especially the modern and synchronous industrial park infrastructure, attracting many large enterprises in the fields of electronics, high technology and energy from different countries.
Ms. Shilei said that Sumec Group is owned by the Chinese Government with main business lines including: Electrical equipment, generator equipment, electronics, garment, equipment import and export, commodity trading… By the end of 2024, Sumec Group will have 13 second-level subsidiaries, 37 industrial plants owned by the Group in more than 160 countries and regions, with more than 16,000 specialized employees; revenue of about 200 billion USD. Currently, Sumec Group is implementing a green energy generator project in Vietnam.
With that potential, Sumec Group and a number of businesses wish to explore investment opportunities, bringing manufacturing industries, especially the power generation sector with new energy, new materials, ensuring green energy, towards the Net Zero target in Bac Ninh. Ms. Shilei hopes that investment cooperation in Bac Ninh will be an important stepping stone for the successful development of the high-tech industrial chain, green energy in Bac Ninh province.
During the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan thanked the businesses for their interest in learning about the investment environment in Bac Ninh province. At the same time, he affirmed that Bac Ninh province currently has a good system of industrial parks, with the most convenient and modern transport infrastructure in Vietnam; connecting with key and strategic economic regions of the country. In addition, the province also invests in building synchronous and modern social infrastructure to serve foreign experts and businesses living and working in the province.
On the basis of determining that attracting FDI enterprises in joint ventures and high-tech and green energy investment is one of the important strategies in the socio-economic development process of the province, the leaders of Bac Ninh province pledged to create all favorable conditions for Chinese investors to learn about investment cooperation in Bac Ninh.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan also hopes that Chinese enterprises will actively research and implement projects under the joint venture model with Vietnamese enterprises in Bac Ninh. During the investment research process, enterprises can promptly report any difficulties and problems to the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board; the provincial leaders always listen to the opinions and suggestions of enterprises.
The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee assigned the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board to coordinate and connect with businesses, introduce them to choose and learn about investment locations in industrial parks. The Department of Industry and Trade researches and applies policies for businesses to attract businesses to invest in high technology, green energy, etc. according to the joint venture model, in association with foreigners.
It is known that up to now, Bac Ninh province has attracted about 3,290 FDI projects, with a total capital of about 45.4 billion USD from 44 countries and territories around the world. The whole province has about 1,455 investment projects of Chinese partners with a total investment capital of about 11 billion USD. Chinese FDI projects are mainly in the fields of electronic components manufacturing, precision mechanics, service industries and civil industry. Chinese enterprises create jobs for a large number of workers in the area and attract many workers from other provinces and cities, making a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh province./.
